I love life, I love people, and I have unending energy to empower people to be the best they can be.  I love to read and develop myself, I enjoy working out and I love doing any activity with my family, including just hanging out with them.  I love spending time with friends.  I love taking in all the beauty around me… in nature and in people.   I love, love, love to laugh and I am always working to develop myself to become who I was created to be.  Yes…I use the word love a lot!  There’s a reason for that…that’s what life is all about!

My Lyme journey, we believe, started back when I was 14 years old.  I carried Lyme without showing any symptoms until the fall of 2011.  I just wasn’t feeling well.  My hair stylist asked me if I was feeling OK, and she said it in a way that made me feel concerned.  She mentioned that I might want to see a doctor and see if my thyroid was off because my hair had totally changed, I was losing a lot of hair and it was the texture of cotton candy (not kidding).  So the journey began, I visited doctor after doctor, hoping for an answer.  I heard things like,  “Your blood work is excellent and you look completely healthy, there is nothing wrong with you, maybe you’re depressed”.

I was experiencing complete fatigue (a good day was being out of bed or off the couch for a couple of hours).  I had insane brain fog, difficulty breathing, I had to hold on to the walls as I walked because I was so dizzy and off balance.  I couldn’t tolerate the heat or the cold.  I was mostly freezing, sleeping in layers upon layers of clothing with a heating pad and tons of blankets.  I had serious difficulty sleeping and had restless legs.  My vision would go in and out and I would sometimes cry for no reason at all.  I had no appetite to speak of and my heart would race extremely fast.  My joints and gums were sore and I had adrenal fatigue.  My scalp was so sensitive that it hurt to the touch.  My gull bladder felt swollen, I had shooting pains in my feet and I felt tilted almost all the time.

I started to think…am I dying?  I was scared… I had always been the picture of health!  I was a mom, a wife and a business owner….I needed to be well…what was happening?  I had taken a couple blood tests by MD’s; they said I did not have Lyme.  My best friend Lisa encouraged me to seek out a LLMD (Lyme Literate MD) to be tested, she was sure it was Lyme disease.  She helped me find the best LLMD in the area.  Sure enough, it was Lyme.  It was actually a relief to me…now I could do something about it.  For the next 3 years the battle was on…I followed everything he told me to do.  I was diligent and I am well today.  I don’t take my health for granted, I am thankful every single day.  Our site is to encourage others.  We want you to know that you can get through it too and come out on the other side.  Everyone’s journey is unique…you are unique.   When we start to learn the lessons that come our way through this journey…beauty unfolds and we start to see the blessings in it.   I am confident that somehow, someway, you will heal from this experience too.   We are here to love and support you in that journey!
